Key Areas of Responsibility
PA Resources ited is seeking a high calibre senior geologist to be responsible for subsurface projects in PA Resources’ operated and non-operated assets and new ventures evaluations across the company’s NW Europe and West African portfolio. The company is continuing to build its technical team and having recently recruited several able geoscientists is looking to further broaden the team’s capabilities.
Job qualifications
The ideal candidate will be:
- A geoscience Masters or PhD graduate with at least 8-9 years of relevant experience including operated North Sea and international exploration and development programmes;
- Geologically oriented, practised in integrating sequence stratigraphy, petrophysics, sedimentological and structural techniques in evaluation of play fairways, prospects and oil/gas accumulations;
- Familiar with industry standard PC tools such as ArcGIS, Kingdom, etc.;
- A self-motivated and technically rigorous team player, keen to work in the independent E and P sector where results can be readily linked to individual actions.
The successful candidate will join a small team, based in modern riverside offices in West London. An attractive package is offered and flexible working can be considered.
PA Resources
PA Resources is an established E and P company listed on the Oslo Bors and OMX Nordic Exchange in Stockholm, with operated oil production in Tunisia and non-operated production in deepwater Congo (Brazzaville). Production is increasing towards a year-end 2010 target of around 20,000 bopd. The company is active in Congo (Brazzaville) where it is involved in the deepwater Azurite field and associated E and A, Equatorial Guinea where it is involved in the deepwater Aseng field development, Tunisia, UK, Netherlands, Denmark and Greenland. The company has recently announced a strengthening of its balance sheet and a renewed focus on both developing its significant undeveloped resource base and exploring the prospective resource portfolio which it has built up over the last several years.
